LSU Collaborating With Halliburton, ExxonMobil on New CO2 Research Well
September 30, 2024 BATON ROUGE, LA – In early 2025, the LSU College of Engineering, in collaboration with Halliburton and ExxonMobil, will begin drilling a third research well at its PERTT—Petroleum Engineering Research, Training, and Testing—Lab on LSU’s campus.

August 30, 2024 Researchers Creating New Bonding Material for Braces BATON ROUGE, LA – Each year, 9 million people in the U.S. get braces. Whether it’s to fix a bad bite or simply gain a more attractive smile, braces have almost become a rite of passage in Western culture. In an attempt to improve the effectiveness of bonding material used in braces, LSU Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) School of Dentistry-Prosthodontics is collaborating with LSU’s College of Engineering on three projects led by LSUHSC Digital Fabrication Center Director and LSU Petroleum Engineering Assistant Professor of Research Charles Taylor.

LSU Petroleum Engineering Professor Receives Grant to Track Subsurface CO2 Flow
March 18, 2024 BATON ROUGE, LA – LSU Craft & Hawkins Department of Petroleum Engineering Associate Professor Mehdi Zeidouni is the recipient of a $252,160 grant from the LSU Institute for Energy Innovation for his work on tracking subsurface carbon dioxide flow and well-sealing capacity in Geological Carbon Storage (GCS) projects.
