Open House FAQs
The LSU Vet Med Open House typically takes place each year in late January or early February from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on a Saturday. In 2025, it will take place on Saturday, February 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Parking is available across the street from the veterinary school. You may not park in the lot adjacent to the Stephenson Pet Clinic, as that is reserved for hospital clients. We take in emergency cases after hours and on weekends, so this lot needs to stay open for those pet owners.
LSU Dining will be selling food outside the building. There are also vending machines on the first floor.
Raptors will be out from 9 to 11 a.m. and 12 to 3 p.m. We are resting the birds from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. These times may vary depending on the birds' needs.
Our hospital is open 24/7, 365 days a year. We see emergency cases after hours and on weekends. This is why we limit access to the hospital during Open House.
Our Office of Admissions and Student Success has a table at Open House so you can ask questions about admissions and the curriculum. There is also an "Ask a Vet Student" table where our students will also be on hand to answer questions about the veterinary school experience.
