Eligibility & Benefits
The LS-LAMP Program takes a comprehensive approach to facilitating the holistic development of its scholars. Emphasis is placed on providing academic support, mentoring, professional development, and networking opportunities in support of racial and ethnic groups historically underrepresented in STEM disciplines. These groups include: African-American/Black, American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander or Hispanic/Latinx.
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
Eligibility
- U.S. Citizen or permanent resident
- Majoring in a STEM discipline
- Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA for undergraduates (3.0 high school GPA for incoming freshmen)
- Must be open to pursuing a PhD in a STEM discipline
- Must be able to fulfill program requirements, including but not limited to:
- Conduct a minimum of 10 hours per week of undergraduate research
- Attend all monthly LAMP meetings, conferences, and off-campus activities
- Attend at least 2 mentoring meetings with the LS-LAMP Manager during each semester
- Complete at least 5 hours of community service each semester
